Article last updated 17th September 2021
September 17th This article is almost ten years old, but it has been updated again. I'm surprised too. This time to add alternative linka for Loki's Lost Key and CBA since Armaholic shut down.
July 22nd Changed installation method to use modfolders
May 10th Added warning about CBA and 104648 beta patch
February 7th Changed instructions after CBA was updated
Loki's Lost Key is an addon for the ArmA 2 series of games. When it's used in conjunction with DaiZy (the single player mod of DayZ), it adds a bucket-load of features and cheats.
If you haven't installed DaiZy, then I've no idea why you're reading this. Head on over to this article first:
http://kodabar.blogspot.co.uk/2012/05/dayz-offline-single-player-practice.html
Before you install Loki's Lost Key, you're going to have to install the CBA addons. These are just a series of little addons that make it easier for other people to write other mods and addons. Loki's Lost Key uses them, so you're going to have to install them.
Go here and download the file (download link at the bottom of the page):
Armaholic shut down. This is the version of CBA you need:
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B-AjkiwQjJ9QaWticURZcFlIM1E/view?usp=sharing&resourcekey=0-bPNnXG-B0rC4H0Wlcywamg
Once you've downloaded the file (it's very small), open it in whatever you use to open 7zip files (I'm using WinRar). There's one folder inside. Extract it to wherever you like.
Take that folder and copy it into your Operation Arrowhead program folder.
If you're using Steam, this is probably in:
Once you've pasted those folders, you need to tell the game to use them. This is done by modifying the game shortcut to include the following:
First of all, you need to download the Lost Key file. Go here to get it (download link at the bottom)
http://www.armaholic.com/page.php?id=6010
Once you've downloaded the file (it's very small), open it in whatever you use to open 7zip files (I'm using WinRar). There's one folder inside. Extract it to wherever you like.
Take that folder and copy it into your Operation Arrowhead program folder.
If you're using Steam, this is probably in:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\arma 2 operation arrowheadIf you're not using Steam, it's probably in:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Bohemia Interactive\Arma 2 operation arrowhead
Once you've pasted those folders, you need to tell the game to use them. This is done by modifying the game shortcut to include the following:
-mod=@CBA_COOkay, so that's the CBA addons installed. You're now going to install Loki's Lost Key and I promise it'll be easy.
First of all, you need to download the Lost Key file. Go here to get it (download link at the bottom)
Don't go there. Armaholic shut down. Here's a Google Drive link instead:
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B-AjkiwQjJ9QRXZqYTVpbG9yNTQ/view?usp=sharing&resourcekey=0-3nHsX8Nk3A4D2Orcp8K4HA
Open the loki_lost_key.7z file in your favourite archiver (I'm still using WinRar). Extract the folder inside to anywhere you like.
Inside you'll find two folders: addons and holomap. Quite honestly, you can ignore the holomap. It's a fancy useless map that you'll never use; it creates a 3D object inside the game and (very slowly) renders a holographic map on top of it.
Inside your Operation Arrowhead program folder, you should make a new folder and make another new folder inside that. Just as you made an @DaiZy folder when installing the single player mod in the first place, so you should make a new folder beside it called @LostKey and create a folder inside that called Addons.
That sounds a little complicated. It should look like this:
OA\@LostKey\Addons
Where OA is your Operation Arrowhead program folder.
Take the loki_lost_key.pbo file and place it in that folder, just as it is in the screenshot above.
Now you need to modify your game shortcut to load Lost Key. Just as you added ;@CBA_CO to load the CBA addons, so you should add ;@LostKey to the shortcut. Make sure there is a semi-colon(;) between each item.
And that's it done. The nice thing about using this installation method (called modfolders) is that Lost Key is only loaded when called by the shortcut. When you play normal DayZ online, it won't load Lost Key, so you can be sure it won't cause any problems.
When you load DaiZy, you'll see in the centre of the screen some light blue text saying Lost Key. If you don't, that means you haven't installed it correctly. Now, assuming that you do, you can use the mousewheel menu to bring up the main Lost Key interface.
This is the main interface. Although there are a lot of headings on the left, the main ones you're going to want to use are under the section marked Work.
You'll be able to guess what a lot of the selections do just from the name. Note that the map shown is used for some of the features. You can drag the map around by holding down the right mouse button and zoom in and out with the mousewheel.
The Magick and Mischief sections contain settings related to god mode and healing. The way that DayZ and DaiZy handle health is different from most ArmA 2 mods, so many of them won't work or won't work in the way that you'd like.
This is the weapon selector. It will make available any weapon from ArmA 2 and Operation Arrowhead, not just the DayZ guns.
Loki's Lost Key has so many options and features that it's impossible to detail them all, so just explore and have fun.

hey Kodabar thanks so much for all this, i live in Australia with shit internet so playing online doesn't really work and i like the idea of being able to place a turret and just mow down the zombies. without the help you give i couldn't have installed this, when i had problems i just checked for someone else who had the problem and did what you told them to do! :DDD
ReplyDeleteHiphopboy797
hey i dont have a addons folder in my OA folder
ReplyDeleteNeed help pls :(
If DayZ is running just fine already, then just make an Addons folder.
DeleteIf DayZ isn't running fine without it or the single player won't run and throws up error messages about "deleted content" or "CA_something" then copy the Addons folder from your ArmA 2 program folder to the Operation Arrowhead program folder.
See Step 4 of this guide for more details (including screenshots) on copying over the Addons folder:
http://kodabar.blogspot.co.uk/2012/05/how-to-install-dayz-with-arma-2-free.html
ok thank you so much
Deletei do not have the Launch Arma2 OA Beta Patch icon can u help me
ReplyDeleteThat suggests to me that you haven't installed the beta patch. Have you actually installed DayZ and got it working?
DeleteHere are details of how to install DayZ and you'll find the beta patch information in Step 5.
http://kodabar.blogspot.co.uk/2012/05/how-to-install-dayz-with-arma-2-free.html
If you need to write back, try to include as much information as possible: e.g. where did you get your games, can you join online servers, any error messages you get, etc.
Hey Kodabar, I've followed the instructions for installing the key, however when i run the game the blue text doesn't appear, please help
ReplyDeleteCheers
I found out what was wrong, I just needed to restart my current character
DeleteSplendid. I really like it when a problem is solved before I even know about it.
DeleteI probably should have pointed out in the article that you need to restart any existing characters. I'll add that in next time I update it. Anyway, I'm glad to hear you've got it working.
What do you guys mean by restart your current character?Sorry i'm a noob and im still learning :P
DeleteWhen you load the game, choose single player, click on scenarios and click on our one, there may be buttons at the bottom of the screen marked "resume" and "restart". If you have been playing already, it will have saved your game when you exited and those buttons will be there. If you "resume" your saved game, any addons you have added since then will be ignored and will not work. You would have to click "restart", which deletes your saved game and begins again but loads the new addons.
DeleteWhen I restarted it loaded up and I tried mouse wheel but nothing showed up and Im sure I did everything right
DeleteI'm afraid that means you haven't done everything right. But I can't help unless you tell me a bit more about what is going on.
DeletePresumably you've installed and been able to play our single player game already. Is that correct?
You've installed Lost Key to a folder. You should have made a folder called something like @LostKey. Do you? Check to make sure the @ symbol is there. It's very easy to miss that out.
Inside that folder should be another folder called Addons. Is there? And inside that Addons folder should be the loki_lost_key.pbo file. Is it there?
So just to recap, inside your Operation Arrowhead program folder, you should have a folder called @LostKey with another folder inside called Addons and a file in that called loki_lost_key.pbo. The full path to it should be something like:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\arma 2 operation arrowhead\@LostKey\Addons\loki_lost_key.pbo
That presumes you're using Steam and it's installed on drive C.
You should have installed the CBA addons too. They should be in @CBA_CO\Addons in your Operation Arrowhead program folder. Are they?
You should also have edited your shortcut. The shortcut target line should have said this:
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\arma 2 operation arrowhead\Expansion\beta\arma2oa.exe" -beta=Expansion\beta;Expansion\beta\Expansion -nosplash -skipIntro -mod=@DaiZy
And now you've added ;@CBA_CO;@LostKey to the end of it to get a target line like this:
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\arma 2 operation arrowhead\Expansion\beta\arma2oa.exe" -beta=Expansion\beta;Expansion\beta\Expansion -nosplash -skipIntro -mod=@DaiZy;@CBA_CO;@LostKey
Does your target line look like this? Are you starting the game with the shortcut? - I know that sounds daft, but some people edit the shortcut and then start the game through Steam. It happens regularly so I have to ask.
If none of this helps, reply by pasting in the contents of your shortcut's target line and saying if you got your game from Steam, whether you've been able to run DaiZy single player already, etc.
Thanks for replying so quickly and I got it to work I accidently had two addon folders but its fixed now and thanks for taking your time out of your day to help me :D!
DeleteAh, no worries. As long as it's working, that's all that counts. I appreciate it's bloody fiddly to install, but we felt it best to keep the installation manual rather than ask people to trust an automated tool that mucks around on their system drive.
Delete"Addon 'cba_a2_xeh requires addon CATracked2_AAV" I cant find the folder it says I need, please help.
ReplyDeleteUsually an error with CA in it can be solved by copying the "Addons" folder from your ArmA 2 program folder to your Operation Arrowhead program folder. I'd try that first.
DeleteI don't have An Addons Folder In My Arma 2 Oa....
ReplyDeleteCopy the "Addons" folder from your ArmA 2 folder to your Operation Arrowhead folder.
DeleteThanks
Deletei get -mod=@DayZ;@CBA;@CBA_A2;@CBA_OA but the same error "Addon Loki_lost_key requires addon Extended_EventHandlers"
ReplyDeleteThat error shows that it's failing to load the CBA addons. As the shortcut is correct, the folders must be in the wrong place. Make sure that the @CBA, @CBA_OA and @CBA_A2 folders are in the main Operation Arrowhead program folder, next to the @DayZ folder.
Deleteis it plz can i add u on teamviewer and u help me
DeleteIt is as I say. That error will only come up if either the files are in the wrong place or the shortcut is incorrect.
DeleteI am willing to help you out on Teamviewer, but please answer a few questions first. I help a lot of people out, taking up considerable amounts of my time - 800,000 people have used my DayZ installation guide, so you can imagine how much time that's taken up and it's not like I get paid for this. I'd rather people didn't just try once and demand I do it for them.
1. Have you installed DayZ and had it running?
2. Have you installed DaiZy and had it running?
3. From where did you get ArmA 2 and Operation Arrowhead (Steam, retail, Gamestop, a mixture, etc)?
4. How are you launching the game (with a shortcut, through Steam - as a non-Steam game, etc)?
5. What have you done in order to try and fix it?
not 1.yes but only dayzsingleplayer 2no 3steam 4 scortcut 5.dont no
DeleteRight. Install Teamviewer and email me (kodabarATgmailDOTcom) and I'll sort it out for you.
Deleteok
Deletecan you please help me ive been at this for 3 hours ive got the cbas in my arma 2 folder but i dont have an addons where i can put lokis key i do how ever have on under expansions also for steam ive been trying to add the -mod=@CBA;@CBA ...but dont have a target folder i can put it in i thought maybe launch options.. please help i can get team viewer or atleast let me know how the other person solved some of these problems
ReplyDeletethanks
Sorry for the delay, I've only just noticed your comments.
DeleteLaunch options? Ah, you're trying to do it in Steam (it helps if you mention that kind of stuff, y'know). Don't do it in Steam - create a new Windows shortcut instead. If you really want you can create a new non-Steam shortcut in Steam (Games > Add a Non-Steam game to My Library).
Hey I want to know 2 things 1:How do you skydive like in the video? and 2.Are you able to add more scripts to Loki's Lost Key? Thanks
ReplyDeleteSkydiving is done through Lost Key. It's in the section marked "Work" and is listed as "HALO" (High Altitude Low Opening). You click on HALO, set the altitude in the box below and click on the map. You'll appear in the sky.
DeleteYou can add scripts to Loki's Lost Key, but it's not easy. You need to know how to decompile PBO files. If you can get that far, you can figure out the rest. But for most people, it's just not going to happen.
Ok thanks for your help and for replying so quickly.
DeleteWhen i play Daiyz it says "you cannot play/edit this mission it is dependent on downloadable content that has been deleted.DayZ_Weapons, DayZ_equip, DayZ_vehicles" Any help?
ReplyDeleteEither you don't have DayZ installed (unlikely) or your shortcut is incorrect. Where have you put the files and what does your shortcut say?
DeleteMy shortcut is ""C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Arma 2 Operation Arrowhead\Expansion\beta\arma2oa.exe" -beta=Expansion\beta;Expansion\beta\Expansion -nosplashand -mod=@CBA_CO". Are you talking about Daizy files or Dayz files
DeleteYour problem is your shortcut. It doesn't load DaiZy. It should be something like this (presuming you have DaiZy installed into a folder called @DaiZy):
Delete"C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Arma 2 Operation Arrowhead\Expansion\beta\arma2oa.exe" -beta=Expansion\beta;Expansion\beta\Expansion -nosplashand -mod=@CBA_CO;@DaiZy
hey kodabar,
Deletei got the same problem as him. But also i cant save anymore lol. Since I`ve put lokis key... it tells me something like "downloadable content " "u cant edit this missioon"...
any idea?
my arma is bought on steam. I ha ve dayzie running fine in single player. Until this mod here i could save... :( i also later tried installing lingor island for single player. and that worked fine. But same issue. Cant save. And in the begining, when arma opens i get an error message saying:
"Addon "cba_xeh_oa" requieres addon "CA_CommunityConfigurationProject_E"
any idea? hope im not making u trouble bro :)
Ah, I can tell you exactly what's wrong. It's a problem caused by the CBA addons. They were updated recently and now require a recent beta patch. Previously, they worked with any version at all, but now they need the beta patch. This isn't in their notes anywhere, grrr.
DeleteGo here and download and install a recent one:
http://www.arma2.com/beta-patch.php
Kodabar you sir are awesome :)
DeleteThank you for all your help, i see u really take care of everyone here. Thank you!
btw i guess i just download the latest one from that website right? :)
Awesome how fast u replied me.!
Have a good day :)
Yeah, the latest one will do. Technically, any one over a certain number will do the job, but I've forgotten exactly which one. So it's best just to use the most recent.
Deleteive tried the latest one, it gives me a "wrong cd-key" warning... its not changing anything. Guess i will try other one. I will keep u updated
DeleteYikes. That's an annoying error. It usually comes about because the CD Key from the game hasn't bee written to the registry properly.
DeleteIf you got the games from Steam, close it and then run Steam as Administrator, then run both ARMA2 and OA. You just need to load up to the main menu and then quit out. If you're not using Steam, run each game as an administrator instead.
yea i remember when i bought it on steam and starting it the first time i nearly shit my pants hahaha. steam needs to update... gosh how i miss my fast internet connection in europe :( once it is done i will let u know!
Deletethank you!!! It works :D
ReplyDeleteHow do i get the three CBA folders in my OA directory?I can only see one named@CBA_CO.
ReplyDeleteLast week, they changed the way that CBA works. Until then, it had three folders, now it just has one. I changed the article at the time to show this.
DeleteJust copy the @CBA_CO folder into your Operation Arrowhead folder. Then add -mod=@CBA_CO to your shortcut.
(different user)
DeleteStill doesnt work for me D:
What happens? Do you get an error message?
DeleteYour shortcut should include this:
-mod=@DaiZy;@CBA_CO
Is their a way to fix the lost keys so that the damn thing isn't hovering in the middle of the screen? it keeps moving infront of my crosshairs.
ReplyDeleteYes, it is a bit annoying that. Pressing backspace will clear it from the screen, but it will come back at times.
DeleteCan you help me i tried everything and still it wont show up with the loki thing in blue plz help
ReplyDeleteGah, another one. Would it kill you to tell me a little more information? Are you getting any error messages? Have you installed the CBA addons? Does DaiZy single player otherwise work just fine?
DeleteIt gets a bit wearing having people say "I tried everything" (they always say that) but not giving any information, so I have to write back and ask the same obvious questions. Then they have to write back and give me the information you'd have thought they'd give in the first place.
So please try again. Tell me what happens when you try it and what you've done so far - all that kind of thing.
How do i get the three CBA folders in my OA directory?I can only see one named@CBA_CO.
ReplyDeleteThe authors of the CBA addons updated them the other day so that they use just one folder instead of three. I updated the article to reflect this. Did I leave a reference to three folders in there somewhere?
DeleteThere's just the one now, @CBA_CO. Just paste that in to your Operation Arrowhead program folder and add -mod=@CBA_CO to your shortcut. If you already have a -mod=@something in your shortcut, you can just add extra entries to it with a semi-colon. -mod=@something;@CBA_CO
"Addon Loki_lost_key requires addon Extended_EventHandlers" it says this i tried every thing you said my target is this "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\arma 2 operation arrowhead\Expansion\beta\arma2oa.exe" -beta=Expansion\beta;Expansion\beta\Expansion -nosplash-mod=@DaiZy-mod=@KRON_SupportCall;@CBA_CO
ReplyDeleteYou've got a couple of errors in your shortcut.
Delete"C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\arma 2 operation arrowhead\Expansion\beta\arma2oa.exe" -beta=Expansion\beta;Expansion\beta\Expansion -nosplash-mod=@DaiZy-mod=@KRON_SupportCall;@CBA_CO
This bit is mixed up.
-nosplash-mod=@DaiZy-mod=@KRON_SupportCall;@CBA_CO
It should be
-nosplash -mod=@DaiZy;@KRON_SupportCall;@CBA_CO
Also, Support Call shouldn't be loaded that way. Although almost every mod and addon should be loaded via an @whatever, Support Call doesn't work like that. You should place Support Call in the Addons folder in your OA folder and not add anything to the shortcut for it.
So your shortcut should look like this:
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\arma 2 operation arrowhead\Expansion\beta\arma2oa.exe" -beta=Expansion\beta;Expansion\beta\Expansion -nosplash -mod=@DaiZy;@CBA_CO
The game works fine with no errors poping up. But when I try it with loki's lost key this comes up and won't let me load up the mission.
ReplyDeleteyou cannot play/edit this mission; It is dependent on downloadable content that has been deleted. dayz_code, dayz, dayz_weapons, dayz_equip, dayz_vehicles.
I think you'd better post the target line of your shortcut. I suspect there may be a stray semi-colon or a missing @ symbol or something like that.
DeleteHello, loving DaiZy btw but,
ReplyDeleteIs it possible for you to produce the other DayZ maps apart from just Chernarus into the latest version of this "Mod" because I cannot seem to play the map versions like 0.42b on 0.42c
The other map versions are for earlier versions of DaiZy. And they're not as advanced, so you probably wouldn't want to play them.
DeleteInstead, have a look on our forums. In the section marked "Unofficial DaiZy releases" you'll find all the other maps and variations of DaiZy. There are multiple versions for each map. Some of the extra features are quite interesting too. For instance one variant only spawns AI bandits behind you - bit of a challenge that. Another incorporates most of the features from Stalker.
So have a look at the forums. You'll find what you're looking for and probably quite a bit more.
http://kodabar-dayz-daizy-single-player-forum.1084782.n5.nabble.com/
hey im getting and error on launch (it says it on launch and then when i try to join the scenario)
ReplyDeletesaying "Addon 'cba_xeh_oa' requires addon 'CA_CommunityConfigurationProject_E'" ive put the CBA file in the arma2 oa folder and my target line is:
"C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\Arma 2 Operation Arrowhead\Expansion\beta\arma2oa.exe" -nosplash -skipIntro -mod=@DaiZy;@CBA_CO
i player with the support call fine and played one session with loki's key but the next time i tried to play it came up with that error
And just a side thing here i've died from the support plane a few times so can you stop it crashing? :D
DeleteYour shortcut is correct, so this is an odd error. It mostly comes up when people have installed the beta patch, but have not installed the updates to ArmA 2 and Operation Arrowhead.
DeleteAre you able to play DayZ online? And from where did you get your games? If you didn't get them from Steam, did you download and install updates for ArmA 2 and OA?
Oh and the Support Call addon was written by Kronzky, so we can't do anything about the plane crashing unfortunately. Bit annoying that.
Deletethanks for the quick reply
ReplyDeleteI've been playing dayz online for a month or so and I got ArmA 2 CO from steam about 3 months ago
Shit. I've heard from a few people that the latest beta patch may not be happy with the latest version of the CBA addons. I regard those as rumours rather than fact because they haven't been able to produce any evidence to substantiate this.
DeleteI've just spent the last hour trying to reproduce this error and I cannot make it happen. I used the very latest beta patch (102591), I installed a fresh copy of the latest DayZ and installed DaiZy over the top of it, then I installed the latest version of the CBA addons and Loki's Lost Key and Support Call. Everything works fine. I tried suspending a game and resuming it and everything kept working. I quit out of the game, loaded it again and resumed my game and everything was fine.
What I'd suggest you do is check your CBA installation is recognised by the game. Load up the game and on the main menu, choose "Expansions". Look for the CBA entry and make sure there's a green blob next to it to show it's active. Also in the bottom right of the screen there should be logos for ArmA and OA and a logo for CBA too. If the CBA logo is not present.
If this doesn't help, the only thing I can suggest is downgrading the beta patch to 102285. No server requires anything more recent than that and it's the one DayZ Commander wants you to use at the moment.
Yeah my ArmA says that CBA is active with the CBA logo in the corner
Deletethanks alot for the effort, ill try downgrading
my dayz is on 1.7.5.1, do you reckon that has anything to do with it?
ReplyDeleteIt really shouldn't. This version of DaiZy works with anything from 1.7.2.5 to the latest 1.7.6.1 and all version in between. Loki's Lost Key has been around since before DayZ was even started and I've never seen an error like this.
DeleteIt's especially annoying because other people may have this error and I don't like to answer with "I don't know". I've never failed to fix a DayZ or DaiZy problem yet and I don't want you to be the first. I'm going to keep trying to find out what's wrong.
What are you using to update DayZ? Six Launcher, DayZ Commander, etc? If you start a new single player game, does Loki's Lost Key work again? And then fail when you resume? Or does it just not work at all now?
im using dayz commander, i start the DaiZy scenario and it comes up with the error but i started a Operation Arrowhead scenario and it worked fine and i could use support and loki's key.
Deletei then made a new account and tried the daizy scenario, and it worked, but when i suspended and tried to join again it wouldnt let me, but i can restart the scenario.
so i can restart and start the daizy scenario but cant resume it
hey kodabar, any luck so far with this thing?
Deletedo you wanna check my file content?
I have tried everything I can to reproduce this error but to no effect. I think the only thing left that I can do is to persuade you to install Teamviewer so I can connect to your computer and examine it directly. Would you be averse to having a complete stranger from the internet mucking around in the depths of your machine?
Deletewell considering you have done it to others im fine if you do it, im just not sure about it if someone else might hack into it.
DeleteTeamviewer is pretty safe. When you run it, it gives you an ID number and a password. The ID number is assigned by their server and doesn't identify you in any way and cannot be used to derive your IP address or anything like that. The password is randomly generated every time you run it, so even if I know the password once, I can't ever connect again unless you tell me the new one.
DeleteYou need to explicitly run Teamviewer for anyone to be able to connect. They can't connect to you if Teamviewer isn't running. Oh and when someone is connected to you using it, it tells you their username and you can take control and over-ride them at any point or kick them off. So it's pretty safe.
If you fancy trying a Teamviewer session with me, send me an email via kodabarATgmailDOTcom.
Okay, I've got daizy working fine, all the CBA Folders are working but when I try to open the lost key thing, there is no option too open it up, I know you've complained about others not giving an error or anything I don't have one, all is opening fine and working but it just won't open up lost key.
ReplyDeleteThat's usually down to Lost Key not being in the right place. Check inside your Operation Arrowhead program folder. loki_lost_key.pbo should be inside the "Addons" folder in there.
DeleteAlso note that if you were already playing a game when you installed Lost Key, you'll need to 'restart' rather than 'resume' it.
If that doesn't help, you ought to write back telling me how you're launching the game, whether you can play normal DayZ online, etc.
Thank you so much for the quick reply and sorry for such a newbie mistake, was hitting resume and not restart it works now! And your work is greatly appreciated especially with DaiZy for when people like myself want to play dayz but not online! Thank you again and sorry to waste your time!
DeleteI take that back, once I got lost key working zombies quit showing up...
DeleteDamn. Okay, so you'd better tell me everything.
DeleteFrom where did you get your games (steam, retail, etc)?
Can you play normal online DayZ?
How are you launching the game?
What does your shortcut target line look like?
etc, etc.
Well I'd rather not state where I got the game from... but I can play LAN not online for "Reasons" but lan is woriking.
ReplyDeleteI'm launching the game through an OA shortcut my target line is as follows:
"C:\Program Files (x86)\ArmA 2\arma2oa.exe" -mod=@DaiZy;@CBA;CBA_OA;@CBA_A2
I have a CBA, CBA_A2, CBA_OA, and a CBA_CO folder in my main game folder. also Lost key is in addons and working, dayz works lan It's just daizy not working now... Sorry for the troubles
Sorry this was supposed to be replied to my previous post... Forgot to do it that way though :\
DeleteAh, I see. Well, I don't care if you're using software that didn't come from an official source. I don't get paid either way.
DeleteI can see from your shortcut that you're not using the beta patch. I don't know if you've installed a beta patch or not, but you really ought to. DayZ and DaiZy use several features from the beta patches, so they're unreliable without them.
Get one from here (if you don't have a relatively recent one installed)
http://www.arma2.com/beta-patch.php
I encourage people to install DayZ and DaiZy by using the beta patch shortcut. Installing the beta patch will leave a shortcut in your Operation Arrowhead program folder marked "Launch Arma2 OA Beta Patch". I suggest that people copy that to a safe location (like your desktop) and editing it.
The target line in the beta shortcut reads:
"C:\Program Files (x86)\ArmA 2\Expansion\beta\arma2oa.exe" -beta=Expansion\beta;Expansion\beta\Expansion -nosplash
Change it to read:
"C:\Program Files (x86)\ArmA 2\Expansion\beta\arma2oa.exe" -beta=Expansion\beta;Expansion\beta\Expansion -nosplash -skipintro -mod=@DaiZy;@CBA_CO
Note that the game will now be loading the beta version of the game exe. Your shortcut is loading the old version.
That -skipintro bit will make the game load a hell of a lot quicker (by not having the fancy main menu background or displaying any splash screens on loading).
You've also got two different versions of the CBA addons installed. CBA used to have three folders with it (CBA, CBA_A2 and CBA_OA). A recent update replaced all that with a single CBA_CO folder. I can see that you've got both versions installed, but you're just running the old one. Switch to the new one (as in the target line above) to make things simpler.
After installing the beta patch and changing your shortcut, remember to 'restart' instead of 'resume' your game and everything will work.
Okay, installed the patch, copied the target you gave, opened er up and it's working great. Zombies movement is laggy but hey, I'm not complaining it works with lost key thanks man really apprecaite the help on this1
DeleteHaha, I'm just bugging the crap out of ya with one last question!
Deleteis it possiable to incorporate this http://www.armaholic.com/page.php?id=9285 into DaiZy cheranous map?
Ask as many questions as as you like. Honestly, the normal standard is "it dunt werk and i dun evrything you said", so you're fine.
DeleteNow that addon. Ah, well it's designed to change the way artillery works rather than operating as an addon. It's supposed to be something that mission creators incorporate into their levels for the ArmA games, so it's not really going to be possible to add it to DayZ/DaiZy.
Okay, so it is technically possible, but it would involve taking apart the DaiZy files, editing the source to allow for it and then recompiling them in a manner consistent with DayZ. So, the short answer is no, it can't be included. The long answer is yes, but with great difficulty. Sorry.
Alright thanks, I'm just trying to find a logisitcs mod like that one that I could add on to haul more survival gear around at a time ya know
DeleteHi kodabar
ReplyDeletewhen i try to restart the game to start playing it says
''you cannot play/edit this mission it is dependent on downloadable content that has been deleted.Dayz_Weapons,dayz_equip,dayz_vehicles''
WHat should i do?
I think you've knackered your shortcut. It should include a bit that read -mod=@DaiZy;@CBA_CO Make sure that's there.
DeleteIf you're stuck, paste the target line of your shortcut here and I'll take a look at it.
how do i change my target on my shortcut without using winrar as i dont have it, can i just enable @CBA.CO through the game itself, and if so why does it not work i downloaded the files and installed them how you said to in the tutorial
ReplyDeleteYou don't need WinRar to change the shortcut. Altering a shortcut is a Windows function that requires no extra software.
Delete1. Right click on your shortcut
2. From the small menu that appears, select "Properties"
3. A panel will open up. Click in the box marked "Target"
4. Move the cursor to the end of that line.
5. You should already have a bit marked "-mod=@DaiZy" (without the quotation marks). Add ";@CBA_CO" to that so it reads "-mod=@DaiZy;@CBA_CO"
Ta da!
thank you i found out i had already enabled it in game but what i hadnt thought of was restarting my game lol thanks anyhow koda
Deletewhen i say game i mean save
Deletehey im having trouble. When i open up the shortcut go to single player then scenarios i click on daiZy but it says cannot play/edit this mission dependent on deleted DLC .chnarus please reply
ReplyDeleteGo into your ArmA 2 program folder and copy the folder called "Addons" and paste it in your Operation Arrowhead program folder.
DeleteThe game is having trouble recognising the ArmA 2 content (Chernarus). Copying over the folder will force it to recognise and load it.
Hey man, Is there a way I can get like clothing EG a Ghillie suit?
ReplyDeleteYes, but not with Lost Key. Use the Support Call addon (covered in the main single player article - link below) and you can change to any skin you like (with a couple of minor exceptions). Clothing items will spawn as loot items naturally as well.
Deletehttp://kodabar.blogspot.co.uk/2012/05/dayz-offline-single-player-practice.html
And another question! I spawn ALICE backpacks using the ammodrop function. But I can't put them on?
ReplyDeleteIgnore! when I posted this the page refreshed. So now I see your comment. Thankyou.
DeleteBackpacks were introduced in Operation Arrowhead and were not there in the original ArmA 2.
DeleteWhen you start a single player game, you may spawn as a character with a scarf and headphones - this skin cannot use backpacks because it's an ArmA 2 skin. That's our fault and stems from the inclusion of all ArmA 2 content as well. Either change skin using Support Call or restart until you don't spawn as that character.
When changing skin using Support Call, when you click on a particular skin it will display a preview on the right. If the letter B appears under the skin description, that's to show that that particular skin can use backpacks.
it says i cannot play/edit dependent on downloadable content Dayz_code, Dayz, dayz_equept, dayz_weapons, dayz_vehicles
ReplyDeleteEither the shortcut is wrong or the DaiZy files are in the wrong place.
DeleteYour shortcut should have something like this in the target line:
"C:\Program Files (x86)\ArmA 2\Expansion\beta\arma2oa.exe" -beta=Expansion\beta;Expansion\beta\Expansion -nosplash -skipintro -mod=@DaiZy;@CBA_CO
Note the -mod=@DaiZy;@CBA_CO bit and the quotation marks.
When installing the files, you should have followed this procedure:
1. Location your Operation Arrowhead program folder
2. Inside is a folder called @DayZ with another folder inside it called Addons. The DayZ files are inside there. Copy them.
3. Create a folder in your OA folder called @DaiZy (it'll sit beside the @DayZ folder). Inside that, create a folder called Addons and paste the files (from @DayZ/Addons) in there.
4. Extract the files from DaiZy+_v[Rz0].rar and place them in the same folder, over-writing some of the files that are in there.
If you're stuck, write back pasting the contents of the "target" line from your shortcut and explaining where you've placed your files.
So after installing Loki, everything works fine, until I save and exit from DaiZy. When I later try to continue in DaiZy it wont let me because it states that I cannot play/edit this mission since it's dependent on content that have been deleted, in this case it's raging on CA_missions_BAF2.
ReplyDeleteI'm using the retail version and haven't had this problem before.
/Corvus
Well that's jolly unusual. It's complaining about the British Armed Forces stuff. BAF is a DLC pack for Operation Arrowhead that adds British military units to the game. There is a 'lite' version included with later versions of Operation Arrowhead, so you should already have all that it needs. DayZ does actually use BAF for a couple of things (eg the AS50 rifle and the ghillie suit). A retail copy wouldn't come with the updates installed and thus would not contain the BAF lite files. Updates (not the beta patch) would have included the BAF lite files though.
DeleteResume errors often come about when the shortcut doesn't include a reference to the beta patch. I don't quite know why this should be, but it's worth checking that your shortcut includes a bit like this:
-beta=Expansion\beta;Expansion\beta\Expansion
So did you install some updates to your retail copy? You may well remember, because the 1.60 update for Operation Arrowhead/Combined Operations is 700MB.
Here are the updates for ArmA 2:
http://www.arma2.com/index.php?option=com_rokdownloads&view=file&Itemid=20&id=777%3Aarma2-patch-1&lang=en
And the updates for OA/Combined Ops:
http://www.arma2.com/index.php?option=com_rokdownloads&view=file&Itemid=20&id=756%3Aarma-2-combined-operations--operation-arrowhead--reinforcements-patch-1&lang=en
If that doesn't help, please write back and include the "target" line from your game shortcut.
No I haven't installed them, thanks for the quick response!
DeleteBtw, How do I go trough with installing these updates on a "functional" game? Will I have to re download the beta patch and such, or should I just perform a clean install, then update the game, and lastly install the beta patch and DayZ/Daizy/Looki's mod?
/Corvus
Luckily (and oddly) the beta patch doesn't actually uh... patch anything. It just creates a separate, updated exe file. So you can just install those updates without having to uninstall anything. Just bang the updates in there and perhaps reinstall the beta patch, just in case.
DeleteThank you, that fixed all my problems! I used to get the error message when launching it before, but I've read all these things about it not being a problem and such, but it was. Now however, it's all fixed.
DeleteYet again, thanks for all the help mate, it's much appreciated. :)
/Corvus
Issues.
ReplyDelete1. Event handler problem, looked though the majority of the comments to find the fix, tried a few, still doesn't fix my issue.
2. When loaded into game (after event handler error) there isn't a button to select Single player, only multiplayer.
Nevermind, messed with my target line and reinstalled dayz, then overwrit them again.
DeleteNo errors anymore.
I am having trouble with Loki. When I attempt to spawn either weapons or vehicles, the drop down menu with Loki does not function ( ). I find it unusual because it works fine in the mission editor and not on the DaiZy mod. I purchased Arma CO from steam and the current DaiZy mod I am using is DayZ BreakingPoint 1.7.61 Chernarus 2.0 from Above. My game path is as follows; mod=@DayZ;@CBA;@CBA_A2;@CBA_OA;@loki_lost_key;@rMod;@ASR_AI;@BreakingPointSP;@COWarMod;@JSRS;@rh_aks;@RH_Heli_Sound;@RH_HK416;@RH_M4;@rh_m14;@RH_MGS;@RH_MK18;@rh_pdw;@RH_Pistol;@RH_SMG;@tpwcas. I execute the game via Arma 2 OA steam shortcut I have on my desktop. I would appreciate your help and if you require addition info don’t hesitate to contact me either here or at phillysfavspik@yahoo.com. Thank you
ReplyDeleteThis one's a bit complicated because of all the addons you have loaded in your shortcut, so I'm going to email you instead. I'll have to install all the same stuff myself to see if there's a conflict, so it might take me a little while to respond.
Deletewill there be a namalsk mission file AVAILABLE soon :D
ReplyDeleteYes. In fact there already is. You even have a choice of several.
DeleteOn our forums (link below) there are dozens of variants supporting every map, even including one or two that aren't available in multiplayer. Some of them even have extra features like base-building or different animations.
http://kodabar-dayz-daizy-single-player-forum.1084782.n5.nabble.com/
How do i change the time of day with this?
ReplyDeleteYou don't - it doesn't have that function.
DeleteBut you can do it using Support Call. It's very easy to install - just one file. There's a link and instructions for installing it over on the main DaiZy article:
http://kodabar.blogspot.co.uk/2012/05/dayz-offline-single-player-practice.html
If you have Loki's Lost key or a debug console, you can do so by using this: setDate [year, month, day, hour, minute]
DeleteCan I use to Loki to have AI team mates? Every time I generate an AI squadmate they completely ignore all AI (bandits/survivors/zeds).
ReplyDeleteYou can't use Lost Key to spawn AI team-mates. Whilst you can spawn units using Lost Key, they won't work in the way you would like.
DeleteDayZ (and thus DaiZy) are programmed in a somewhat odd manner. Normally ArmA mods place units into Blufor, Opfor, Independent or Civilian groups. The first three can shoot at each other, so AI units can be programmed to do that. But DayZ groups the zombies as civilians and your character as 'player'. There can only be one 'player' per map, so that causes problems with spawning AI team-mates and bandits as they all need to be 'player' characters too.
Lost Key (and all other ArmA mods and addons) will only spawn units as Opfor, Blufor, Independent or civilian, so they won't shoot at each other or at zombies.
So what we have instead are trigger areas where AI units spawn. Bandits will spawn more or less anywhere, but friendly units will only appear in a few areas. If you approach a church in Cherno or Electro, you'll find that friendly units will appear. There are a few other spots on the map where this can happen, but I don't like to spoil things by saying exactly where.
On our forum, there are other versions of DaiZy which handle unit spawning differently. Some of them have a built-in cheat system and others (the Faction mod for example) handle units differently giving you more options.

Bit of a long answer for what is a straightforward question (sorry!), but the reasons behind it are rather complex.
i installed the suppourt called ut its not popping up under my menu i followed instructions correctly!!
ReplyDeletehelp!
please email me at potatoes2011@live.com.au :D
I did all of this when i load game cant resume has to restart everytime no zombies spawn the eror it give is Addon cba_xeh_oa requires adon CA_CommunityConfigurationProject_E please help its really anoying
ReplyDeleteIt's because you haven't got a recent beta patch installed.
DeleteThat error comes up because the CBA addons have recently been updated and now require a beta patch of 100697 or later. Go to his page, download and install a recent one:
http://www.arma2.com/beta-patch.php
Great work, and everything went perfectly. So many airstrikes ;P
ReplyDeleteGlad you're having fun. I have a lot of fun with the extraction helicopters (provided they don't crash on their way in). It's a laugh getting pulled out of the middle of a firefight, but equally fun sniping the pilot and stealing the heli.
DeleteHey Kodabar, I've been following the single player mod for a while now and have had plenty experience on how frustrating it is and appreciatte what you're doing. The other reason I'm posting is because of the tavianna map issues. I succsefuly managed to run the map by downloading it on dayzcommander then moving the files into the daizy addon folder (deleting tavinnas versions of the duplicated files such as its code.pbo) I ran around for a while hwowever and no vehicles spawned, and i mean None! I had this problem for a while and checked out utes as its the smallest map, after a fruitless search i went afk and when i got back vehicles had spawned around me. I deducted that its just taking a while to load it but its frustrating as hell, any ideas?
ReplyDeleteHello Kodabar
ReplyDeleteI thank you for all your work to make the single player dayz come true
can lost key be used in LAN play?
if it can not, can you tell me how to "cheat" in LAN play?
basically, i want to spawn much much weapon for me and my friends to kill tons of zombies
please forgive my noob question
I think Lost Key can be used in LAN play. I can't think of any reason why it wouldn't work.
DeleteGetting LAN play to work is very difficult, so well done for getting it working!
Hi, I have a problem... I keep getting the error of Extended Event Handlers every time that I try to start up Arma 2 it pops up. could it be that I am using windows Xp? or something else? This is my targer "C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\common\Arma 2 Operation Arrowhead\Expansion\beta\arma2oa.exe" -beta=Expansion\beta;Expansion\beta\Expansion -nosplash -mod=@DaiZy;@CBA_CO i have tried diffrent methods and things and yet nothing, I hope you cam help me.
ReplyDeleteYour shortcut looks fine to me. You could add a -skipintro to speed up the game loading, but it's not necessary.
DeleteHave you installed a recent beta patch? The CBA addons require a recent beta patch in order to run. They didn't use to, but a recent update (which I can see you have installed) does require it.
If you haven't already, go here and download a recent patch.
http://www.arma2.com/beta-patch.php
I keep getting the error that I have a Wrong Cd key whenever I install the beta patch. it say's download successfully downloaded the new beta patch which I check the version of the files and they are 1.62.103.718 and when I start up the game again I still get the same problem. I must be doing something wrong or possibly messed up somewhere? do I have to reinstall something or maybe I have to do the whole process again...hope not... but I won't give up yet! I'll try other things and I'll wait for a reply... I hope I get this to work soon.
DeleteThe Wrong CD key error is a nasty one. It shouldn't ever happen, but it can be a hassle when it does. It's down to the key not being written to the registry properly. The normal procedure is:
Delete1. Close Steam.
2. Run Steam as an administrator (right click, "run as administrator")
3. Run ArmA 2 (just up to the main menu and out)
4. Do the same with OA
5. If that doesn't work, reboot and repeat.
But if it's all running fine for you otherwise, you could always try using the old version of the CBA addons which doesn't require the beta patch. It's a far from ideal solution, but it might just work in the short term.
Download this:
https://dev-heaven.net/attachments/download/19518/CBA_v1.0.0pre10.zip
Inside the zip file are three folders: @CBA_A2, @CBA_OA and @CBA
Copy those into your OA folder and then replace the @CBA_CO bit from your shortcut with @CBA_A2;@CBA_OA;@CBA
That's the old version of CBA that doesn't require the beta patch.
Hi I am also getting the extended event handlers problem. beta patch is 105785
DeleteAm using DaiZyFactions
Deletetarget is
"C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\Arma 2 Operation Arrowhead\Expansion\beta\arma2oa.exe" -beta=Expansion\beta;Expansion\beta\Expansion -nosplash -mod=@DaiZyFACTIONS;-mod=@CBA_CO;@rMod
(sorry for the delay - I was on holiday) I'm recommending beta patch 103718 just now. Download and install that and see if that fixes the problem. A recent beta patch introduced a problem and I haven't had time to test them all.
DeleteYou can install an older beta patch over a newer one (up to a point) without any problems.
ok i will give that a go. how do you install an older one? i have never done it before.
DeleteThank you
Just download the zip file and run the exe inside. Get them here:
Deletehttp://www.arma2.com/beta-patch.php
Although the installation program tells you the beta patch can't be uninstalled and that this is an irreversible process, that's not quite true. The beta patch just places an exe file in a sub folder and makes a shortcut. It doesn't overwrite anything and it doesn't add anything.
So to install an older beta patch, you don't even need to try to remove anything. Just download and run.
ok so i downloaded and ran patch 103718 ran the file and got a box saying wrong cd key. i click ok and it says successfully installed. then i run the arma 2 shortcut that launches daizy factions and it is still saying about extended event handlers. is there anything else i need, or need to do?
DeleteArgh, I've just spotted your problem. The shortcut is wrong. It's not loading the CBA addons. Have a look at this bit:
Delete-mod=@DaiZyFACTIONS;-mod=@CBA_CO;@rMod
It should be:
-mod=@DaiZyFACTIONS;@CBA_CO;@rMod
There's an extra -mod= bit in there.
Hey Jonathan, just a quick thought : you might modify your instructions and advise people to install Loki's in a separate mod folder? Having it in the OA addons can cause a few troubles if you try to connect online, as it will be detected and considered as a cheat tool (wich it is not)...
ReplyDeleteCheers mate!
Im still getting the error message 'Extended_EventHandlers' even though its correct(As far as i know) this is what it looks like: -mod=@DaiZy;@CBA_CO. What do i do?
ReplyDelete(sorry for the delay - I was on holiday) I'm recommending beta patch 103718 just now. Download and install that and see if that fixes the problem. A recent beta patch introduced a problem and I haven't had time to test them all.
DeleteNow it gave me a whole new error but it disappeared super fast so I wasn't able to read it. How do you take a screen shot so I can read it? Sorry.
ReplyDeleteI figured out that my Beta Patch is outdated. When I go to the website that offers a newer version, the download always errors and says "JZip (since I am using JZip) isn't able to open this kind of file". Any ideas?
ReplyDeleteI'd suggest you use WinRar but, you're probably happy using JZip and installing WinRar might displace or disrupt it. I would instead recommend that you use DayZ Commander.
Deletehttp://www.dayzcommander.com/
Once that's installed, click "install/update" in the top right and, in the panel that appears, choose to update ArmA 2. It's a little disingenuous that it labels it thus, but it is the beta patch to which it is referring. DayZ Commander has its own internal unzipping facility, so it'll download, unzip and install the beta patch.
I stuck on propites it says "'C:\Program Files (86)\ArmA 2\Expansion -nosplash -skipIntro -mod=@DaiZy;@CBA_CO;@LostKey;@Kron' specified in the Target box is not valid. Make sure the path and file name are correct." OMFG HELP ME PLZ do you have skype to where i can give picture >:( i have cracked or (torrented verson) of this game and dayz commander lets it work like it is actual game. is there any way that i can install the mods on dayz commander :( JKSVBhfhbdfhsdknsdfhkdsfhsdfjkdbs i'm pissed..... FUCKING ARMA TY IF YOU RESPOND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeletehttp://i.imgur.com/Luks9ay.png?1 there is what it says if you could plz help ty
DeleteI appreciate you're frustrated, but I like it better when people calm down and use less capitals and exclamation marks - it makes me more inclined to help them.
DeleteI can tell you what's wrong. Windows gets confused by space in file names, so names with spaces ought to be surrounded by quotation marks. In your haste (and you can scream "FUCKING ARMA" all you like, but it was you who fucked up) you've managed to knock off one of the quotation marks, which is why Windows is getting confused and throwing up that error. The target line you've posted here is pretty mangled and definitely missing a large chunk apart from the quotation mark.
This is what you've posted:
"C:\Program Files (86)\ArmA 2\Expansion -nosplash -skipIntro -mod=@DaiZy;@CBA_CO;@LostKey;@Kron
I reckon it should be:
"C:\Program Files (86)\ArmA 2\Expansion\beta\arma2oa.exe" -beta=Expansion\beta;Expansion\beta\Expansion -nosplash -skipIntro -mod=@DaiZy;@CBA_CO;@LostKey;@Kron
Note that you've completely cut off the file name. The file path just runs out at "Expansion" without even pointing to a file. Copy the corrected line I've pasted above. Pay careful attention to the placement of the quotation mark after the exe (that's what's throwing up the error). Problem solved.
And knock it off with the capital letters and shit. I get about a hundred messages a day asking me for help with DayZ and DaiZy and I always reply. I generally don't add people to Skype or Steam because it just gets overwhelming. I have over a thousand pending friend requests on Steam (even though I tell people not to). I took a screenshot when it got to an amusing number.

I cannot use the health, god mod cheats, please help
ReplyDeleteLost Key was written for the ArmA games. It's supposed to be for testing missions you have created, but it works quite nicely as a cheat system. But it was not written for DayZ.
DeleteDayZ introduces many things that are not in the ArmA games. One of those things is blood. God mode will protect you from bullets, but not from zombies - because zombies do melee damage.
So only about half of all the Lost Key functions work as you would expect. DaiZy is a mod of a mod (DayZ) of a game (ArmA).
We chose Lost Key for a number of reasons. One of them is because it doesn't work online. You can't connect to a server with Lost Key active. This stops people from using it to cheat online, but it also means that people will not get banned for accidentally leaving it active (because the server won't let you connect at all).
You can use Lost Key to spawn medical supplies and food, so you can stay alive more easily, but there's nothing in there that will make you invulnerable.
We do have different versions of DaiZy on our forum (link below) that have built in cheat menus. The cheats they include are designed for DaiZy only. Some of the cheats include applying bloodbags to yourself, proper god mode, a zombie shield (kills all zombies near you), a bandit shield (the same) and so on. You might prefer to use one of those.
http://kodabar-dayz-daizy-single-player-forum.1084782.n5.nabble.com/
So I got it installed, along with CBA_CO. I wrote the @LostKeys and @CBA_CO in my shortcut or what not like I was supposed to, I double checked for spelling and file placement. Everything is in order. So I ran dayz and loaded my dayz singleplayer, but the lost keys would not load even though CBA_CO would. What might have I done wrong?
ReplyDeleteWhen you install new addons like Lost Key or CBA, you need to 'restart' (rather than 'resume') your existing game. The new addons won't work otherwise. Hopefully that's all that you need to do.
DeleteI did restart. It still hasn't worked.
DeleteHave a check to make sure the file is in the right place. You should have a folder structure like this:
DeleteOA\@Kron\Addons
(Where OA is your Operation Arrowhead program folder)
Check that loki_lost_key.pbo is in there. It's awfully easy to put it in @Kron rather than @Kron\Addons
And also check that it's spelled correctly in your shortcut. It should have a bit saying -mod=@DaiZy;@CBA_CO;@Kron
It doesn't matter the order of those three items, but they must begin with @ and have a semi-colon between them.
Well I got it working. The problem that was causing it to not work apparently was the act that I installed the JSRS soundpack incorrectly (I honestly don't know how it would affect Lost key) So I installed it correctly, then ran it and it worked. And it came to a point where I just wanted to restart my whole singleplayer, so I did so and then Lost key worked. Now i'm just wondering how I can use the Debug Console to Spawn AI bandits and such.
DeleteOh, now that's interesting. It wouldn't have occurred to me that JSRS could interfere with Lost Key, so I'm interested to hear that it can. Thanks for letting me know - that may well come up again with another person.
DeleteAh, yes. Now that's something I should perhaps have made clear. Whenever you install any new addon, mod or update, it's pretty much essential to restart your game.
Spawning AI bandits is possible with the debug console, but I don't recommend it. The way that the AI units are handled is a bit 'unique' because of decisions Rocket took when programming DayZ. Zombie units are classed as civilians which is a bit of a hassle as Opfor, Blufor and Independent units (the other unit classes) will not fire on civilians. So if you spawn AI bandits, they won't shoot at zombies and zombies won't attack them - not that they'd be able to damage them if they did because you're the only one with blood.
Also, spawned AI units may well ignore you. Or a side effect may be that shooting AI bandits will cause AI friendlies to shoot you. It's a bit of a mess due to the 'unique' way that Rocket implemented certain things and there's no way round.
Our default Chernarus version does just fine, but the AI is a bit limited. In our forum (link below) we have a number of different versions with different features, map support, etc. I particularly recommend the 'Factions' versions as they use a different AI system which is a lot better. The bandits will behave more realistically, you can recruit certain units by approaching them and selecting "Recruit unit" from the mousewheel menu and a few other improvements too.

Yeah I was a bit confused with the whole JSRS soundpack situation mostly due to the fact that I couldn't even get JSRS to work itself, but I ended up figuring out that I needed to install JSRS ACE along with the original JSRS soundpack and run them both along with daizy. The only problem is that I get errors that have to do with JSRS ACE upon startup noted as "Addon 'JSRS_ACE_Explosions' requires addon 'ace_c_weapon'" and alot more that has to do with COWarMod, which doesn't affect my gameplay up until the point where I am loading a new save or occasionally, restarting my singleplayer, which causes me to get notable ammount of errors that then cause my game to bug out forcing me to have to close dayz. I could supply you with the error names in a screenshot maybe if you'd like to tell me how to correct them?
DeleteOoh, this is getting a bit complicated.
DeleteYou shouldn't need to use the ACE versions of JSRS if you're not using ACE. I think this is getting beyond the scope of comments and I would suggest that you send me an email (kodabarATgmailDOTcom) and we'll see about fixing this.
Sorry for the late reply, I've been running a music festival for the last eight days and I'm exhausted
Yeah that was it, very weird.. Thanks for your help and quick reply man :D
ReplyDeleteOk i love DaiZy but one prob, when i try to put something into my inv my game crashes. I can drop stuff from my gear fine, but as soon as I try to put something my game goes retard. Any hints/suggestions?
ReplyDeleteI have no launch Arma 2 beta thing in the OA folder so i tried to enable it using extensions in the Arma OA beta game but it ended up removing single player from the game i deleted the loki folder in the Arma directory and it got it back but what did i do wrong?
ReplyDeleteHi I keep trying to enter and it tells me that some items have been deleted. Castructures
ReplyDeleteAre you able to run DaiZy single player without Lost Key?
DeleteHey It dosnt show up when i scroll the mouse wheel. I have installed everything right as it says on the ingame menu screen @CBA and @Lostkey. I am able to play DaiZy without lost key. What could have gone wrong? Have i installed them incorrectly? http://gyazo.com/e43d802ba5ce652ff83ea8865ba26797 <-- Picture from my Folders

Oh i fixed it. Before i installed it, i already had a save on DaiZy. So i made a fresh save and it worked like a charm. Thanks for showing us how to install this amazing mod :)
ReplyDeleteKODABAR i installed i did all you said it didnt work no errors but when i am in game and i scroll my mouse wheelit doesnt show up 'Lost Key' menu please help
ReplyDeleteDid you restart your game? If you continue a game that's already in progress, it wont' load Lost Key - it only loads the plugins and addons that were in use when the game was saved. Could that be it?
Deletei am having issues getting my lost key to work as well, i read through the comments here and i followed your instructions, but lost key just doesnt want to show up on my screen. I have all three CBA's in my arma OA directory as well as DaiZy and lost key. (I know lost key works because ived used it on arma OA for mission editing) but i cant get it to work on DaiZy! I followed your youtube video on how to install the mod and the mod works great. idk what im doing wrong, ive even restarted my save game 4 times. plz help
ReplyDeleteAll three CBAs? There's only one these days. That's probably not helping. You should download from this link:
Deletehttp://www.armaholic.com/page.php?id=6231&a=dl
There's one folder inside, called @CBA_CO
Edit your game shortcut to include -mod=@CBA_CO;@LostKey;@DaiZy
and restart your game.
And that should be just fine. If it's still not working, please write to me via kodabarATgmailDOTcom and I'll help you sort it out. If necessary, I can be persuaded to use Teamviewer to do it for you.
I'm sorry you've had such trouble. I have often thought about creating an automated installer (I have actually made one) but I just feel that by installing it manually, people can be certain that this will cause no harm to their computer.
...............................i feel so stupid. thank you
DeleteNot really a problem, but is there a way to get rid of the "Lost Key" blue text that pops up when you're just walking? Much appreciated
ReplyDeleteAh, yes, that is annoying, isn't it? Well, unfortunately there's no proper way to get rid of it. Lost Key was actually designed to help ArmA mission designers test their missions out, so Lost Key displays that annoying text to help you make sure you know when you're running it.
DeleteThere is a method of temporarily removing it which is far from ideal. If you press backspace twice, it will disappear. But it will come back as soon as you point your cursor at anything that would normally cause it to change (at a loot pile for instance). And then you'll have to hit backspace again to make it go.
HELP! I have done everything they said and when i run the game i goto singleplayer and then scenarios and it sais you cannot play/edit this mission it is dependent on downloadable content that has been deleted deleted.chernarus
ReplyDelete"...content deleted...Chernarus" errors
DeleteThe game is unable to find the Chernarus content. DayZ and DaiZy use Operation Arrowhead for just about everything, but the Chernarus files come from ArmA 2.
Go into your ArmA 2 program folder. Locate the Addons folder, right-click on it and select Copy. Now go into your Operation Arrowhead program folder and Paste it there.
I did everything you said to do then I got to the shortcut key and it wouldn't let me put any information into the texting box whats up with that
ReplyDeleteWas the box greyed out and you couldn't type a character? Or could you type stuff but it wouldn't accept it?
DeleteThe latter happens when you damage the file path so it no longer points to the right place. Yuo should have a target line that looks something like this:
"C:\Program files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\arma 2 operation arrowhead\Expansion\beta\arma2oa.exe" -beta=Expansion\beta;Expansion\beta\Expansion -nosplash -skipIntro -mod=@DaiZy;@CBA_CO;@LostKey
Note the quotation marks at the beginning and end of the file path. It one of these is removed or the file path altered in any way, Windows will throw up an error message and refuse the changes you've made.
Hello, When i try load into my singleplayer it says windows has stopped working everytime Please Help
ReplyDeleteI don't mean to be rude, but if you could give me any kind of information at all, it will help. As it stands, I have no idea what is wrong because I don't have enough to go on.
Delete1. Where did you get your ArmA games? Steam?
2. If not from Steam, have you updated them?
3. Can you play the normal online multiplayer version of DayZ?
4. Have you been able to play single player?
5. Did the problem start when you installed Loki's Lost Key?
6. Do you have a recent beta patch installed?
7. Did you install the CBA addons?
8. What does the error message say? It probably does say Windows has stopped working. Does it say ArmA have stopped working? Does it say anything else?
9. Are you just using the default single player mod, or are you using one from our forum?
10. What does the target line of your shortcut say?
If you can tell me any or all of that, it'll get us a lot closer to an answer. I always help everyone who asks and I've never failed to fix a problem yet, so do get back to me.
1.Steam
ReplyDelete3.Yes
4.Yes
6.Yes
7.Yes
8.It doesn't pop up when i touble tap 0
9.Daizy 2018 on the forum
10."C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\arma 2 operation arrowhead\Expansion\beta\arma2oa.exe" -beta=Expansion\beta;Expansion\beta\Expansion -nosplash -mod=@2018;@CBA_CO;@LostKey
the blue lokis lost key thing doesn't show up in game how do I get it to work I got the game threw steam
ReplyDeleteYou either have installed it to the right place or you've made the shortcut incorrectly.
DeleteYour shortcut should include "-mod=@DaiZy;@CBA_CO;@LostKey" (without the quotation marks) Check there isn't an @ symbol missing or a semi-colon out of place.
Make sure the files are in OA\@LostKey\Addons (where OA is your Operation Arrowhead program folder). It's easy to miss the @ symbol when creating the folder or put the file in @LostKey instead of @LostKey\Addons
Hello, everytime i join server, i got disconnected :/ Please help me
ReplyDeleteIt's working as intended. This is a cheat tool for offline single player (DaiZy), not for online (DayZ) use. Servers detect the mods you have loaded, check for a signature key and check them against a list of approved mods. No server will approve this cheat tool, so they will refuse to let you connect.
DeleteYou need to disable the tool (remove @LostKey from the shortcut) to play online.
okay, thanks
DeleteAnd can u help me with DayZi please? I dont have single player option
DeleteI've replied to your comment over on the other article.
DeleteI dont have that blue thing.. help :D
ReplyDeleteThen you haven't installed it correctly.
Delete1. When you download the Loki file, you will get one called "loki_lost_key.7z".
2. Open it up and you'll find inside that there is a folder called "loki_lost_key".
3. Inside that, there are two folders called "holomap" and "addons". Ignore the holomap one.
4. Extract the folder called "addons"
5. Make a new folder called "@Loki" (all mod folders are called @something)
6. Put the "addons" folder inside "@Loki"
7. Now put @Loki into your Operation Arrowhead folder. It'll be next to the @DaiZy folder.
8. Modify your game shortcut. Last time you added "-mod=@Daizy" You need to add ";@Loki" to the end of that. You will also need the CBA addon (Loki doesn't work without it).
So you will end up with a game shortcut that at the end has "-mod=@DaiZy;@CBA_CO;@Loki". Do make sure you installed CBA to @CBA_CO properly. There's screenshots above showing exactly how that works.
Thank u, my cba wasnt working, bcs i forgot to type @ in front of it! THANKS!
DeleteAnd is there some way to edit the mission in editor? :D
ReplyDeleteYes, you can. But it's difficult. The mission comes in a PBO file. These are archive files (like ZIP and RAR). You need to open that and extract the files inside. How do you extract it? With a tool like PBO Manager (http://www.armaholic.com/page.php?id=16369). Then you can edit away to your heart's content. Did I mention it was difficult? It is. There's lot of documentation (https://community.bistudio.com/wiki/Category:ArmA_2:_Editing), but you'll find the learning curve pretty steep.
DeleteOkay, thank u so much ! U are awesome
DeleteBut bro, i mean in arma 2 editor, so i can add some vehicles/buildings and this things.. what is PBO Manager? :D
DeleteThe mission file is in PBO format. This is the kind of file created when you 'export' from the editor. You can't open a PBO file in the editor. First you have to turn it back into its source files. That's what PBO Manager does. Then you can open the files in the editor.
DeleteAh, thank u !
DeleteAnd.. how to turn it back to source files? :D
DeleteThat's it. Use the PBO Manager to turn it back into the source files. Occasionally you'll find a tricky one that doesn't want to be extracted. In which case, try the Arma Tools: http://www.armaholic.com/page.php?id=411
DeleteHello Kodabar, as of recently Armaholic has closed down and Lost key is nowhere on the internet. Im wondering if you still have a copy of the files? If so, please reply back with the files or some sort of link attached. Thank you!
